Ariana Grande My Everything Album Review
Ariana Grande will release August 25 in US, her second album “My Everything“ via Republic Records. The young singer changes her game. It is about love and life and the personal moments that Ariana went through to grow up.
Follow-up to her debut album “Yours Truly“, it finds Ariana, exploring more sounds and ideas while being conform to mainstream and commercial standards. Thus, she enlisted a bunch of renowned producers including Zedd, Max Martin, Big Sean (R&b mid-tempo Best Mistake), Harmony & Tommy Brown,Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Lady Gaga & Beyonce’s “Telephone”) and production duo Oak & Pop among others. Some of songs use traditional electro-futurist pop structures combining polished and danceable beats and simple lyrics on the hit songs Break Free (feat. Zedd), Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea).
There are radio-ready singles like the urban contemporary track, Hands On Me (feat. A$AP Ferg) with its eastern sounds and the anthem electro tribal pop One Last Time, written and produced by David Guetta, Savan Kotecha, Giorgio Tuinfort, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk. Break Your Heart Right Back (feat. Childish Gambino) about a guy who cheated on a girl with another boy, is a worthy urban pop/R & B featuring a great electric guitar part.
Even if Ariana experiments new territories, she remains comfortably cohesive with her offerings with the frenetic Love Me harder (feat. The Weeknd), another electro pop/R& B radio-friendy song that fits her well. Be My Baby (feat. Cashmere Cat) is no exception to the rule. This catchy R&B tune shows how powerful her voice is.
The album also offers some songs , artistically more enticing. It incorporates young talented songwriters such as Harry Styles and Ryan Tedder. Her interpretation is majestic and the songs are living up of the quality of her vocal style. There is much emotion inside these beautiful pieces of music like Why Try , much more on Just A Little Bit of Your Heart. Her voice lends them the right tone. Produced by OneRepublic lead singer Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco, Why Try is a heartfelt pop song.
Grande has a certain sense of conviction in her interpretation on Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart written by Harry Styles and Johan Carlsson. She did it justice. The song stands out better on the album. It is vocally brilliant. It is without a doubt because of the honesty of lyrics. It is a poignant moment on this album and it is the most beautiful song ever heard and written, that resonates within you. Emotionally loaded and sad, the song is a bittersweet piano-driven ballad , both classy and sophisticated with magnificent violins. The lyrics are moving and touching. Harry penned the lyrics with his heart and his soul . and if you don’t understand them, you miss something. It is about a complicated relationship. No matter if you share this love with someone else because a little bit of this love, it is enough for you.
All in All, Ariana Grande “My Everything” is worth a listen. Maybe , it is not a new take on the modern electro pop music but it contains some beautiful songs like Why Try that deserves your attention and radio-friendly songs such as One Last Time for example, to make you dance this fall.
