Candlelight Red debut album The Wreckage Review

Candlelight Red released this year their debut album The Wreckage through Imagen Records, produced by Grammy-nominated Producer David Ivory (Halestorm, The Roots). They already opened for well-known hard rock bands such as Kiss, 10 Years, Saving Abel, Egypt Central and Rev Theory. The Williamsport, PA-based group is currently on tour with Sevendust.

The album is a worthy and heartfelt mix of metal and heavy sounds in which the frenetic guitar tone by Jeremy Edge and the Ryan Hoke‘s powerful voice are the highlights coupled with a pounding drumming led by Josh Hetrick and a great bass line (by Adam Zimmer). *

It features a wide range of melodious riffs, styles and moods as well as tons of impressive hooks. You are spoiled. This intense combination of fast heavy tempos and majestic upbeat riffs (The Dirt, Closer, The Wreckage) hold listeners spellbound from beginning to end. From the short and awesome oriental intro to metal inspired tunes such as  In Your Hands, Bend and Break which reminds me a little bit of Five Finger Death Punch or Medicated (if you love Sevendust), they totally rock and sure you never get bored . It isn’t hard to see that they bring something different to musical scene. Changing tone, tempo and style, originality and their high creativity in each tune make them unique <- I love that.

Do not really miss. Most songs stand out. My favorite are The Dirt, Gone Forever ,Medicated which are clearly upcoming hit singles and will be excellent follow-up to their powerful debut single Closer.

I also recommend their killer version of 1987‘s Roxette hit track She’s Got The look. Definitely, a must for your ears.

In conclusion, this new band with The Wreckage must be included in your music library. It is a big surprise for me because it is from a debut album. It is rare and for me, it is without hesitation, one of my favorite albums alongside well-known bands. To follow in the next festivals because they deserve it.
