Elvis Presley – Elvis Country : Legacy Edition coming out on January 3rd

Elvis Presley - Elvis Country : Legacy Edition – a Deluxe 2-CD Package will be released on January 3rd 2012 through RCA/Legacy (a division o f Sony Music Entertainment).

It is the first Elvis release of 2012 which marks the 35th anniversary of his passing and a year-long celebration of his life and legacy. A bunch of catalog reissues and compilations are planned via the next year.

It contains  on CD one, the original 12-song Elvis Countryfirst released in 1971. Three bonus tracks are also available.  The CD Two features the original 11-song Love Letters From Elvis also with three bonus tracks from the original sessions.

Elvis Country was a breath of fresh air for most of his millions of fans, and signaled a renaissance of his creative energies.

Three factors contributed to the totally reinvigorated image of Elvis Presley in the new decade of the 1970s: 1) the impact of the “’68 Comeback Special” (i.e. the NBC broadcast of December 1968 that featured Elvis dressed in black leather); 2) the string of Memphis-recorded hits that began in the spring  of 1969 (chronicled on From Elvis In Memphis: Legacy Edition , issued in 2009); and 3) Elvis’ return to public performing which began in Las Vegas that summer and continued into January-February 1970 (as chronicled on On Stage: Legacy Edition , issued in 2010).
