Il Volo Christmas Favorites EP Review

Il Volo
 – Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble – released  today their EP for the holidays, Christmas Favorites.

It features the classic Silent Night and his german version Stille Nacht , Panis Angelicus, a medley of classic Christmas Jingly Bell rock, Let It Snow and the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, the Christmas Song featuring Pia Toscano (Of American Idol Fame).

Their choice is awesome.

You are both overwhelmed and blown away by these three  tenors. They  blend their voices in sweet harmony.  If you never heard these three young artists, you are missing out on something phenomenal. They made worthwhile covers of famous traditional songs such as Silent Night and The Christmas Song in a classy orchestration. The german version of Silent Night works very well.

The jazzy version of classic Jingly Bell Rock, Let It Snow and The Most Wonderful of Time of the Year is excellent and fun. If you haven’t a smile afterwards…

For those of you who don’t know Panis Angelicus, my favorite in this EP. It is the strophe of the hymn Sacris solemniis written by St Thomas Aquinas set to music by César Franck en 1872 for his Messe à Trois voix Opus 12.

In conclusion, if you could only pick up one Christmas Cd this season, I highly recommend this EP. It is both a perfect choice and a great way to get you into the Christmas spirit. A full album would have been awesome, just saying… when it is beautiful, .. we want more..

Also request to Santa Claus their self-titled debut album because 0 Solo Mio, Per Te or Il Mondo are pure beauty. It is an unforgettable musical gift that you will not soon forget. The music on this album is simply inspired.  Ah… The italian language … Magnifico
