Imagine Dragons Continued Silence EP Review

After releasing three independent EPs and making a name for themselves on the West Coast live circuit, Las Vegas quartet Imagine Dragons  – which is Dan Reynolds (vocals), Wayne Sermon (guitar) Ben McKee (bass), Daniel Platzman (drums) – released their debut EP Continued Silence this week on KIDintheKORNER/Interscope Records.

Grab your copy on iTunesAmazon.

Produced by the hip-hop sensibilities of Alex Da Kid (Eminem, Rihanna), the songs on the EP are just a taste of what’s to come from the band.

Continued Silence showcases a wide range of musical ability across an inspiring journey. It is a strong debut delivering everything you could expect from a new band. They experiment to offer to listeners a creative work of musical art , both inspiring and refreshing.

From apocalyptic and “original” Radioactive  to the beautiful hip-hop ballad My fault or epic indie song It’s time,  it is a colorful mixture of sounds, creating different moods in you. Their music is between Coldplay and Muse. These pieces of music stand out. The 6 songs blend synth-hip-hop/rock , alternative, indie, world music to deliver an unique sound, rarely found nowadays.

It’s Time is the radio-single that will impact alternative rock radios on February 21. It reveals itself a great choice and is, in my humble opinion , an upcoming hit. Imagine Dragons give away this song. It is available now as a free download via TuneCore or the band’s Facebook page.

I also suggest,  my first favorite, the sunny track On Top of the World, infused with African and  Caribbean sounds. Don’t forget Round and Round, blend of alternative music, very catchy  that reminds me a little bit of Coldplay. Midtempo , Demons is an amazing mixture of hip-hop and rock beats.

But, I highly recommend to grab their EP to get other songs. They deserve your time and your buying. The band is now working on tracks for their debut album.

In celebration of their new EP, the band will perform at the Viper Room in Hollywood on February 22nd followed by dates at SXSW Music Festival in March.

Meet the band and get a preview of “It’s Time” in a new behind-the-scenes video from a recent photo shoot, and keep checking for updates from the road and news on the recording of their full-length release.
