The Pretty Reckless Hit Me Like a Man EP Review

Fresh off the heels of announcing both a headlining tour and a set of opening dates for Marilyn Manson, The Pretty Reckless have just unveiled the brand new, 5 track Hit Me Like a Man EP.

The EP features three new songs including “Under The Water,” “Cold Blooded” and the title track, “Hit Me Like a Man,” as well as live renditions of “Make Me Wanna Die” and “Since You’re Gone” (recorded at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in November of last year). Hit Me Like a Man EP is available today through iTunes, Amazon and will be sold in stores and on the road beginning April 3rd .

Hit Me Like a Man EP is a musical gem , blend of 70s/90 grunge rock  infused with crunchy melodies , raspy vocals with an unique style, intriguing and tasteful at the same time.

70s style riffs, crunchy solo guitars, a burning rock ‘n roll highly explosive, richly attractive melodies, stunning singing ,it is the meet between Nirvana and Foxy Shazam as well as the next generation of rock icons .

Live version of Make Me Wanna Die and Since You’re Gone rock and are totally badass. The new songs are apocalyptic masterpieces, able to create a tidal wave at the top of the charts. This is a type of music that, unfortunately, is sorely lacking in music right now.

Under the Water is an outstanding grunge, anthem ballad ,dark and melancholic at the same time, featuring amazing solo guitar, acoustic guitars and strings. Hit Me Like a Man reminds a little bit of psychedelic rock underground from the seventies. Cold blooded is a mid tempo featuring duet voices from Taylor Momsen and lead guitarist Ben Philipps.

The Taylor Momsen fronted band also recently unveiled a new video for “You,” the vulnerable closing track from their debut album, Light Me Up.
