Yo La Tengo, stars of HBO’s Doll & Em, Emily Mortimer and Dolly Wells, comedians Janeane Garofalo and Jon Glaser join John Hodgman, Josh Gondelman, Bambi Kino, Tammy Faye Starlight and Jeanne Darst as confirmed performers at Fun Lovers Unite ! The event will be held on May 11, 2016 at Highline Ballroom to benefit the Manhattan Chapter of Brady Campaign to prevent Gun Violence.
“Like the rest of the American people, I’ve just had enough of the gun violence that devastates our communities every day,” said performer Tammy Faye. “So for me, it was clear cut and an honor when presented with the opportunity to perform at this event. There is so much each of us, in our own way, can do to fight for sensible solutions and for the 90 people killed by gun violence each day.”
The event is produced by friends Joshua Mills of Los Angeles and Brooklyn’s Maccabee Montandon, both fathers to young children, who have had enough of the epidemic of gun violence in America. Montandon’s brother, Asher, was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in 1992.
Advance general admission tickets are $65 and $75 day of the event; VIP tickets are $150 and can be purchased here: http://tktwb.tw/1mKTBrF .
